About Us

Len Glassman (Owner)
Len Glassman is a Certified Personal Trainer and Health Nutritionist, with over 20 years of fitness experience. Len's passion for fitness and compassionate manner has helped many people of all ages and abilities incorporate and stick to a positive health and wellness lifestyle. Len specializes in developing goal oriented strength, endurance and flexibility training programs for men, women and teenage children. He trains athletes of all ages and abilities using sports-specific exercise programs for those seeking a competitive edge. He has also worked with individuals experiencing cardiac issues, hypertension, neck and back problems.

Alex Barakhan
Alex is a Certified Personal Trainer and New York State Licensed Massage Therapist with several years of fitness experience and know-how. Alex conducts flexibility training sessions to help clients increase range of motion and reduce stress. His unique training style incorporates Russian principles with basic movement patterns and body weight exercises.

Mirjana Banic

Mirjana is a certified personal trainer and a certified tennis instructor. She lettered all 4-years in varsity Track and Field, was a Big East scorer in the discus and placed 5th in the Penn Relays, College Division and went on to place 7th in the discus at the 2002 ECAC as Team Captain. Since 2003, Mirjana has been training to become a member of the United States Olympic Bobsled Team. Her team placed third in the U.S. Women's bobsled team trials in Lake Placid, N.Y. She has also competed at the Push Off Championships and traveled to Calgary, Canada for training. She has now set her sights on becoming a "driver" instead of a "breakman".

Sheri Cognetti
Sheri has been working in the fitness industry for 25 years amidst raising children and caring for her family. She holds numerous certifications in personal training, group exercise, cardio-kickboxing, cycling, arthritis foundation courses and Pilates. She has been studying Pilates for 10 years and holds a certification in mat and apparatus from the Physicalmind Institute.
Sheri teaches several Mat Pilates classes each week at Personal Best and has an extensive Pilates apparatus and personal training client base.

Dawn Farella
Dawn is a Certified Pilates Instructor, Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor. She studied Pilates with Stott Pilates, where she received extensive training on the Reformer, Tower and Split Pedal Stability Chair. Dawn teaches Mat Pilates classes from beginner levels through advanced, Tower Classes at beginner and intermediate levels and conducts private and duets sessions on all three Pilates apparatus (reformer, tower and chair). She also works with clients in her capacity as a certified personal trainer. Dawn’s energy and enthusiasm is contagious. She thoroughly enjoys helping others and likes training people of all ages and fitness levels.

Frank Fryer
Frank holds two certifications in personal training and has been involved in sports and fitness throughout his life. Frank played high school football, college basketball and competitive flag and touch football. Frank remains an avid skier, softball player, cyclist, youth football coach, and general fitness enthusiast and enjoys teaching and inspiring others

Sandy Kadesh
Sandy Kadesh is a certified personal trainer and certified massage therapist. Sandy integrates her cardio workouts with strength training and quality fitness instruction. Her highly motivating and energetic style of training helps individuals to jumpstart their exercise program and develop a healthy lifestyle. Sandy's fitness programs are suitable to all age, levels and abilities.

Kim Kay
Kim is a Certified Personal Trainer and is pursuing her certification in Pilates. Kim’s has a energetic style and is passionate about helping individuals of all fitness levels achieve their fitness and lifestyle goals.

Josh Mandel
Josh is a certified personal trainer and a speed, agility and quickness specialist. He runs sports conditioning "Boot Camps" throughout the Union County area. Customized exercise program design, nutritional counseling and training athletes to achieve competitive edge performance are among his interests. Josh is also pursuing a career in modeling and acting.

Josh played hockey for Penn State (99'-03'), participated in ACHA National Champions (99'-01'), Team USA World University Games in Sakopane, Poland (2001), and Tarvisio, Italy (2002), and attended the Toronto Maple Leafs Minor League Affiliate Camp (03'-04').

Karen Megaro
Karen Megaro is a certified personal fitness trainer, pilates mat and senior fitness instructor. Karen has an in-depth background in group exercise and pilates which compliments her personal training program. Her multifaceted approach to exercise and wellness streamlines the body while developing muscle definition and improving posture. Her emphasis on cardio conditioning, strengthening abdominal and back muscles and lengthening and strengthening arm and leg muscles lends itself to a lean, well-toned appearance.


Dario Rivera
Dario is a Certified Personal Trainer with several years of training and experience in the fitness field. His optimistic, good natured manner, touches everyone who is fortunate to cross his path. Dario is a firm believer in the power of positive thinking and has helped countless individuals improve their morale and invigorate their lifestyle.

Ellen Lester (Founder)
At age 50, Ellen began thinking about longevity. She realizes that, as life spans keep increasing due to modern medical advances, each person must ask themselves "How good do I want to feel in the future?". With that in mind, she developed a new and pleasurable lifestyle for herself that included a proper balance between exercise, weight-training, cardio, and nutrition. Wanting to help women as she helped herself, Ellen became a certified personal trainer and certified senior fitness instructor.
